Lucy P. Summers

Originally from Michigan, I moved to Kansas with my family in 2011. After high school, I attended a small Liberal Arts College in St. Marys, KS, before coming to Haskell in the spring of 2025 to pursue a bachelor's in Environmental Science. As an assistant undergraduate researcher at KU, I help process soil and root samples for a graduate student project that focuses on assessing ecosystem functions in restored prairies at Konza Prairie Biological Station. I assist Marcos Gimenez with field and lab work on investigating soil C accumulation and plant community dynamics at sites restored under different climate conditions.
